Monthly roundup

Since our last roundup we worked on three things: getting artwork out of the sell sheet editor in the format you need, making dates and the dashboard right wherever your team works, and making Boardssey comfortable on a phone. Section headings match the sidebar navigation.

Sell Sheets

Your artwork, out of the editor in the format the next tool needs.

  • Quick Export: Right-click an element, a group or a multi-selection in the sell sheet editor and choose Quick Export as PNG 72 DPI, PNG 300 DPI or SVG. You get only the selection, cropped to its edges, on a transparent background.

  • SVGs you can edit: SVG exports are now real vector files. Shapes stay shapes and text is turned into outlines, so the file opens at print size in Illustrator, Figma, Inkscape or Affinity instead of showing up as a flat picture or a black box.

  • Choose where to save: Every export now asks where to save the file before it starts, so you can drop it straight into the right folder (Chrome and Edge; Safari and Firefox download as usual). Image exports with several pages arrive as one zip.

  • Big sell sheets save again: A sell sheet with large embedded images no longer fails to save.

Dashboard

What is happening in the hobby, and what is due, on the right day.

  • Trending on BGG: The BoardGameGeek hotness is back as a dashboard card. Add it from Customise layout to see the top 10 trending games with cover, year, player count and play time, and hover a game for its designers, mechanics and weight. Each game links to its BGG page.

  • Due dates in your time zone: Task due dates now show the same day on the team home, the project boards and the task sheet. Overdue, Today and This week follow your local calendar, and repeating tasks land on the right day. Before, teams east of UTC saw some dates one day early.

Games

  • BGG import: Importing a game from BoardGameGeek now goes through BGG’s official API.

On your phone

Boardssey now fits the screen in your pocket.

  • Navigation: The sidebar closes when you pick a page, and the top bar stays pinned so the menu is always in reach.

  • No sideways scrolling: Pages, tabs and page headers fit the screen, and so do Billing, the Spec Sheet preview and the task list.

  • Dashboard: Stat tiles stack on top of each other on small screens.

  • Chat: The message toolbar no longer covers the text, and the channel list has its own close button.

  • Tools: Each tool is a compact row, with a pin button you can tap.

  • Teams: The team picker lists teams in stacked rows, with the team you opened last at the top.

  • Long dialogs: Long forms scroll inside their dialog, so the title and the save button stay on screen.

App-wide

  • Faster pages: Every page change makes fewer requests, the first load is lighter, and the PDF and chart tools load only when you use them. The games list and the Sell Sheets All tab fetch less data.

Who gets it
